The owner of a 2010 Honda Pilot contacted the New York Police Department to report their vehicle, with the keys in the ignition, were stolen when he left the vehicle unattended to make a quick delivery on Queens Blvd and 42nd St in the confines of Queen’s 108th Precinct.

The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later officers assigned to the NYPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the Honda on Commerce Street near 7Th Avenue with an occupant inside the stolen vehicle. The Honda was on the move and was eventually surrounded and stopped near the Westside Highway in the confines of lower Manhattan’s 6th Precinct. The officers immediately placed the driver under arrest and the undamaged Honda along with a set of keys was impounded at the 6th Precinct and was later released to an extremely happy owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Pilot in February 2010 by Paragon Honda in Woodside, NY.
