The owners of a 2008 Toyota Solara contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen during the evening while the car was parked in front of a residence on the street in the Bywater area of the city.

The New Orleans PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers from the New Orleans PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the Florida housing area.

The Toyota was located parked on the street and was found to be in great shape.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Solara in December 2007 by Toyota of New Orleans, La.
