The owner of a 2007 Honda Accord 4-door sedan contacted the Orlando Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the night for the second time in less than a week. The responding officer discovered that the owner’s home had been burglarized and then prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Later that morning an Orlando PD officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Accord on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The officer began tracking the stolen Accord by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the Accord abandoned near South Lee Road and West Michigan Street. The Orlando PD TAC and auto theft units responded and established surveillance on the vehicle. After several hours the surveillance was terminated with negative results. The Accord was recovered, released to the owner, who responded to the scene, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Honda Accord at Courtesy Honda in Sanford, Florida, in July 2007.
