The owners of a 2006 Ford Mustang Saleen contacted the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen from in front of their residence during the night.

The St. Charles SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

55 minutes later officers and deputies from the New Orleans Police Department and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and deputies tracked the Ford just out of Uptown in the river road area of Metairie.

The Mustang Saleen was recovered parked near the river.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang Saleen in April of 2006 in Metairie, Louisiana, via Direct Sales.
