The owners of a 2008 Ford F350 flatbed contacted the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen. The owners had parked this Ford in the front parking lot of their business and left it there overnight.  When they returned to work in the morning this Ford was missing.

The Johnson County SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Later, deputies from the Johnson County SO picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the stolen Ford and found it abandoned in a vacant field.  The ignition was damaged and some tools that were inside of it were missing.  This Ford was stolen from the east side of the county and recovered, a far distance away, on the west side of the county.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F350 flatbed in May of 2008 via Commercial Sales.
