The owners of a 2014 Ford Fusion contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The Ford was left unattended, open and with the keys inside.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short later, patrol officers from the LAPD-Mission Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the area of the 13600 block of Kismet Street. The officers located the Ford parked on the street.

The Ford was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford in April 2014 at Galpin Ford in North Hills, CA.
