The owners of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short later, patrol officers from the LAPD-North Hollywood Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the area of Vanowen and Lankershim. The officers conducted a felony traffic stop and took two female suspects into custody for auto theft related charges without incident.

The Chevrolet was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota in February 2007 at Rydell Auto Group in Northridge, CA.
