The owners of a 2008 Honda Accord contacted the Hawthorne Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway in the Borough of Hawthorne sometime during the night.

The Hawthorne PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short while later, officers from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Honda, with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to Barclay Street in the City of Paterson, where the vehicle was located parked on the street. The Honda was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Honda Accord in June of 2008 at Route 22 Honda in Hillside, New Jersey.
