The owner of a 2009 Chrysler 300 4-door sedan contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen at a hospital parking lot in Palmetto Bay. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Immediately upon activation, a Miami-Dade Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler 300 on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The officer began tracking the stolen Chrysler by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the Chrysler in the elevated parking garage at the hospital’s main campus near S.W. 87th Avenue and Kendall Drive. Apparently the owner did not remember which hospital they were admitted to. The Chrysler was recovered, released to the owner, who responded to the scene, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Chrysler 300 in February 2010 at Dadeland Dodge in South Miami, Florida.
