LoJack® System Helps Law Enforcement Recover Stolen Honda Civic

The owner of a 2000 Honda Civic 2-door coupe contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the night. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Immediately upon activation, a Miami-Dade Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Civic on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The officer began tracking the stolen Civic by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the Civic near N.W. 36th Street and N.W. 30th Avenue. The Civic was recovered with steering wheel ignition damage, released to the owner, who responded to the scene, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2000 Honda Civic 2-door coupe in March 2000 at Maroone Honda of Hollywood in Florida.
