A car dealership in Puyallup was the victim of a fraudulent purchase of two vehicles, a 2008 Lexus GS460 and a 2015 Nissan 370Z.  Unknown to the dealer, who purchased it as a used car, the Lexus was equipped with LoJack.

When the crime was discovered it was reported to the Puyallup Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Less than thirty minutes after activating the LoJack, a SeaTac Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the car was located in a hotel parking lot in the 3200 block of South 176th Street. Suspects were identified and follow-up investigation is being conducted by Seattle PD detectives assisted by other agencies. Arrests are anticipated.

Further investigation also resulted in the recovery of the 2015 Nissan 370Z at another location.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus in June of 2008 at Lexus of Tacoma in Fife, Washington.
