The owners of a 2007 Audi Q7 LL contacted the Bloomer Wisconsin Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The Bloomer Wisconsin PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi Q7. A few hours later patrol officers from the Calumet City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Calumet City PD officers tracked the Audi to a residential street where it was recovered undamaged.

Although Bloomer Wisconsin is approximately five and one half hours’ drive from Calumet City, Illinois, the Audi was recovered less than five hours after it had been reported stolen. The Audi was recovered undamaged and returned to a grateful owner. Police investigation into the Audi’s theft continues. The LoJack® System was installed in the Audi Q7 in December of 2006 at InsKip Audi, Warwick, RI.
