The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot while at work.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet. Eleven minutes later, officers from the Phoenix PD and a deputy from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and deputies tracked the Chevrolet to a neighborhood near 31st Avenue and Pierce Street in Phoenix.

The Chevrolet was found parked on a side street unoccupied. No suspects were observed in the area near the stolen Chevrolet. The Phoenix PD recovered the stolen Chevrolet and processed it for evidence. The Chevrolet was returned to the owners in good condition. The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado pickup in September 2006 at Van Chevrolet in Scottsdale, Arizona.
