The owner of the Nissan Altima parked his vehicle on the street where he lived. When he came down for it, he found it missing. This was in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn, confines of the 60th precinct. He immediately called the precinct and notified them of the theft. When the police arrived they took a written report. This information was then entered by the New York Police Department into the City, State, and Federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen Altima.

Within a short while police officers from the Brooklyn South Auto Larceny Unit picked up the silent signal on their onboard LoJack tracking computers (PTC) that their vehicle was equipped with. This was in the Gravesend section of Brooklyn, confines of the 61st precinct. They tracked the Nissan through various streets of Gravesend; eventually they located the vehicle on a residential street. They staked the Nissan out for several hours, however when no one showed up for the vehicle they took it into custody. The Nissan was recovered with no damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Nissan was recovered so quickly especially with no damage. He further stated that he was fortunate when he purchased the Nissan it was equipped with the LoJack® System. Because he knew that if it wasn’t for the LoJack® System his Nissan would not have been recovered so quickly, if it actually was recovered at all.

The LoJack® System was installed in August 2004 at Hudson Nissan in Jersey City, New Jersey.
