The owner of a 2002 Lexus 300 called the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report her vehicle as stolen.  The owner stated she let her son borrow the Lexus and during this time it was stolen.  The victim’s son stated a female he had just met borrowed the Lexus to get food from the store.  The female never returned with the Lexus nor the food.

The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short time later, officers from the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus and observed a female driving.  Officers made a traffic stop with the Lexus, took the female into custody and identified her as being the one who originally stole the vehicle.  The female was arrested for the theft of the Lexus.

The Lexus was recovered and will be returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus 300 in January 2014 as a Nevada direct customer.
