The owners of a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the 1100 block West Lombard Street in Baltimore City, Maryland.

The Baltimore City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Silverado.

A short while later patrol officers from the Baltimore County Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet Silverado with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the intersection of Kavanagh Road and Inverton Road in the Dundalk area of Baltimore County. At that location, officers observed the Chevrolet being operated by the theft suspect. Officers stopped the Chevrolet and placed the theft suspect under arrest. Officers recovered the undamaged Chevrolet and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado during November 1998 at JBA Chevrolet in Baltimore, Maryland.
