A commercial customer called the Ft. Bend County Sheriff’s Department to report one of their customers construction site was burglarized sometime during the overnight period and a 2014 Doosan trailer mounted air compressor had been stolen.

The Ft. Bend County SD personnel verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Doosan air compressor.

A short while later officers from the Houston Police Department  and a Texas State Trooper picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen air compressor with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the air compressor to a residential area near Beltway 8 West, South of I-10 West. The air compressor was located in the back yard of a residence. The residence owner stated he had purchased the compressor the day before from an unknown individual for $5000.00. This case has been turned over to auto theft for follow up investigation.  The air compressor was released to the commercial customer.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Doosan trailer mounted air compressor in May 2014 for a Commercial customer.
