The owners of a 2006 Lexus RX contacted the Perth Amboy Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from in front their home in Perth Amboy. They told police that the keys were in the Lexus and the engine was running.

The Perth Amboy PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus RX.

A short while later, officers from the New Brunswick Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to Prospect Street in the City of New Brunswick where the vehicle was found parked on the street. The Lexus was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Lexus RX in May of 2005 at DiFeo Lexus in Bound Brook, New Jersey.
