The owner of a 2007 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Irving Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen.  The owner had left his Cadillac at a body shop for repair.  While parked in the parking lot with the keys in the ignition, a known suspect who regularly hangs out at the shop, jumped in this Cadillac and drove off.

The Irving PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

Ten minutes later, officers from the Dallas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Cadillac to the 1800 block of McBroom, where they found it abandoned on the street.  The Cadillac was in good condition and the keys were not recovered.  An arrest warrant for the suspect is pending.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade in March of 2007 at Park Place Motorcars in Dallas, Texas.
