The owners of a Ford Escort contacted the Edgewater Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their home during the night.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later the LoJack signal from the stolen Ford was picked up with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  These PTCs are installed in police patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, officers from the Lakewood PD tracked the Ford to an apartment complex near 13th and Garrison in Lakewood.  The Ford was found in the rear parking lot with the hood and front license plate concealed with a tarp.
