The owners of a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the 2500 block Booth Street in Baltimore City, Maryland.

The Baltimore City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2001 Mitsubishi Montero.

A short while later officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mitsubishi Montero with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mitsubishi to the 2200 block Madison Avenue in Baltimore City. At that location, detectives observed the Mitsubishi parked and unoccupied. Officers recovered the undamaged Mitsubishi and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2001 Mitsubishi Montero in July 2000 at Rockville Mitsubishi in Rockville, Maryland.
