The owners of a 2007 Ford F250 pickup contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of a hospital.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Nine minutes later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the area of 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road, in Phoenix.

Officers located the Ford in a parking lot of a grocery store.  Officers were able to identify the suspect and take him into custody.  The Ford was loaded with gas and supplies to be used by the smuggling organizations to transport illegal drugs and immigrants.   The Ford was processed for evidence and later returned to the owners in good condition.  The suspect was booked for the theft of the Ford.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 pickup in April 2010 at Chapman Chevrolet in Tempe, Arizona.
