The owner of a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro woke up on a Saturday morning and discovered that their car was missing. They contacted the Hollywood Police Department to report that their Camaro was stolen sometime during the night. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

A short while later a Miami Beach Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Camaro on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The officer began tracking the stolen Camaro by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC. The officer, along with their backup, located the Camaro on the second level of the city parking garage on 17th Street and Convention Center Drive, right across the street from City Hall. The Camaro was recovered with apparent theft damage, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro at Maroone Chevrolet-Greenacres in Greenacres, Florida in February 2010.
