The owners of a 2014 Mazda 6 contacted the Bogota Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in Bogota. The Mazda was taken by a family acquaintance.

The Bogota PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

A short while later, officers from the Hackensack Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mazda to a supermarket parking lot in the City of Hackensack, where the vehicle was located occupied. The suspect was arrested without incident and the Mazda was recovered undamaged.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Mazda 6 in April of 2013 at Wayne Mazda in Wayne, New Jersey.
