The owner of a 2013 Dodge Dart 4-door sedan contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the night. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

While on routine patrol a Miami Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dart on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The officer began tracking the stolen Dodge by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the Dodge in the 500 block of N.W. 32nd Place, where it was recovered, released to the owner, who responded to the scene, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in August 2013 at Dadeland Dodge in Miami, Florida.
