LoJack® System Helps Chicago Department Recover Stolen Audi A8

The owner of a 2008 Audi A8 contacted the Chicago Police Department to report their vehicle had been taken from a concrete slab behind their property on the 7200 block of S Morgan Ave in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. The Chicago Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi A8.

A few hours later Officers from the Chicago Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officers tracked the Audi to the 7000 block of S Normal Ave were the 2008 Audi A8 was discovered parked in a garage behind a three flat residential building.

The Audi A8 was recovered unoccupied, undamaged and returned to the owner on scene by the Chicago PD. Investigation into this vehicle theft continues.
