The owners of a 2003 GMC Yukon contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen during a residential burglary.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC.

A short while later officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen GMC with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the GMC to the area of Central Avenue and Broadway Road in Phoenix.

Officers found the GMC occupied and mobile.  Officers conducted a high risk traffic stop on the vehicle.  The suspect/driver was taken into custody without incident.  The suspect stated the he had found the key fob in a parking lot near 35th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard.  He used the key fob to locate the GMC in the parking lot and drove it away.  The suspect was arrested for the theft of the GMC.  The GMC was processed for evidence and later returned to the owners in good condition.  Additional investigation is being conducted reference the burglary and vehicle theft.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Yukon in May 2003 at Coulter Motors, Tempe, Arizona.
