The owners of a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro contacted the Newark Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway of their home in Newark. The Chevrolet had the keys in it and was left running to warm up.

The Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro.

A short while later, officers from the Newark PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to Center Street in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was recovered parked and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro in November of 2014 at Toyotaland in Springfield, New Jersey.
