The owners of a 2007 Honda Civic contacted the Detroit Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen by unknown suspects at gun point in a parking lot.

The Detroit PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later detectives with the ACTION Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Honda to a residential area of Dearborn.

Surveillance was established and after some time the Honda was impounded for processing.  Because of the quick recovery the suspects did not have enough time to strip it or use it to commit additional crimes.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in June 2007 at Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
