The owner of a 1995 Honda Civic contacted the Salt Lake City Police Department to report that their Honda was stolen.  The owner stated they parked the Honda and when they returned they found broken glass where the Honda was parked.  The Salt Lake City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short time later, officers from the Salt Lake City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda and found it abandoned in a parking lot.  The Honda was released to the owner at the recovery scene.  This was the second time the Honda was stolen and recovered with the use of LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in June 1997 via Illinois Direct Sales.
