The owner of a 2007 Honda Odyssey contacted the New York Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen with the keys when they left the vehicle unattended and running to make a quick purchase on E 190th St in the confines of the Bronx’s 52nd Precinct.

The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, officers assigned to the NYPD’s 44th Precinct picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the unoccupied Honda parked on Buchanan Place in the confines of the Bronx’s 44th Precinct. Surveillance was setup for a short time with negative results.  The undamaged Honda was eventually returned to a very happy owner at the recovery location.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Odyssey in May 2007 at Paragon Honda in Woodside, New York.
