The owner of a 2010 Mercedes GLK-350 contacted the Marietta Police Department to report that it was missing from his work parking lot after he had left it there for the day.

The Marietta PD verified the information of the stolen Mercedes and entered it on the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the vehicle.

Within a short time of the LoJack activation a Marietta PD officer equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) began to pick up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the PTC that were installed in the police cars.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the police officers tracked the Mercedes to a business park where the officer spotted the car parked with no one inside. After calling an unmarked police unit to the scene to watch the stolen Mercedes, a person came out of a nearby building and began to drive when the officers made the traffic stop.

The officers arrested the driver and charged him with the theft of the Mercedes.  The Mercedes was towed to a wrecker lot where the owner got it back in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes in March 2009 at RMB of Atlanta, Georgia.
