The owners of a 2009 Mercedes contacted the Cobb County Police Department to report that his vehicle had been taken during the day while he was at work.

The Cobb County Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Within a short time of the LoJack activation a Cobb County PD officer equipped with a LoJack tracking unit began to pick up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen car with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that were installed in the police cars in Cobb County.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the police officers tracked the Mercedes to a shopping center where it was found abandoned in the parking lot.  After a check of the area the Mercedes was towed by the officers to the impound lot for further investigation by a detective.

The owner did not know that his Mercedes was equipped with a LoJack unit and was glad that it did.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes in July 2009 at RBM of Atlanta.
