The owner of a Mustang skid steer contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from a job site.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the skid steer.

A short while later, officers from the Hutchins PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen skid steer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that is installed in their patrol cars.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen skid steer to a house, where they determined that it was in the backyard behind a fence with a locked gate.  Officers determined that the house was unoccupied and a search warrant was executed.  Once inside the backyard, officers found this stolen skid steer as well as the following stolen vehicles:  2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle, 1995 Ford F250 pickup, 2012 Kubota tractor, and 5 flatbed trailers.

The skid steer was recovered in good condition.  At this time the identity of the house owner has not been determined.  This is an ongoing investigation.
