The owner of the Honda Civic was on his way to work, when he stopped to pick up a cup of coffee. He unfortunately made the mistake of leaving the keys in the ignition with the motor running.  Apparently an opportunist passing by saw this and jumped into the vehicle and took off. This was in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, confines of the 66 precinct. Upon coming out of the store he saw his Honda missing. He immediately called the Police, when they arrived they took a written report. This information was then entered by the New York Police Department in the City, State, and Federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen Honda.

Within a short while of the activation, Police Officers from 66 precinct picked up the silent LoJack signal on their onboard LoJack Tracking Computer (PTC) that their vehicle was equipped with. This was in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, confines of the 66 Precinct. They tracked the Honda through various streets in Sunset Park, eventually locating the vehicle parked on a residential street. They staked the Honda out for a short while, however when no one showed up for the vehicle they took it into custody. The Honda was recovered in excellent condition, with no damage on it, minus the keys.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Honda was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage. He further stated that he was happy that when he purchased the Honda he purchased the LoJack system. He went on to say that he had just purchased the Honda and he decided to purchase the LoJack recovery system for his vehicle, just in case the car got stolen. He also learned a valuable lesson never leave yours keys in a vehicle no matter how short a period of time.

The LoJack® System was installed in February 2015 at Hillside Honda in Jamaica Queens, NY.
