The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer contacted the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home.

The Berkeley County SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Sometime later, deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Trailblazer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Trailblazer as it was being driven around the county. The Trailblazer left the Greenville area and soon after deputies from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office picked up the signal as it was traveling through the Columbia area. The Chevrolet was tracked and stopped without incident.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer was recovered intact and undamaged. Two suspects were arrested.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Trailblazer in January 2007 at Enterprise in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
