The owner of a 1999 Honda Civic contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report that their Honda was stolen from an apartment complex in the Foothills Area Command.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 5 minutes of the activation, the Albuquerque PD officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda in the Valley Area Command with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to an apartment complex in the Valley Area Command where it was found abandoned.  The Honda was returned to the owner and she was quite surprised with the quick recovery not knowing her Honda was equipped with a LoJack® System.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in August 2001 at AutoNation Honda in Westminster, Colorado.
