The owners of a 2006 Ford Explorer contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen sometime overnight.  The Ford was taken from the parking lot of a motel near 25th Avenue and Peoria Avenue.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later, officers from the Phoenix Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to an apartment complex near 32nd Avenue and Northern Avenue, in Phoenix.

The Ford Explorer was found parked in the back of the apartment complex.  No suspects were observed in the area, so officers recovered and processed the Ford for evidence.  The side window had been broken out and some personal items removed.  The Ford was later returned to the owner.
