The owner of a 2006 Nissan Titan pickup truck parked their truck in front of their home. Later that morning, they attempted to use the truck and discovered it missing. The owner contacted the Fort Myers Police Department to report their Nissan stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers.

Immediately upon activation, a Fort Myers Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Titan on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The officer began tracking the stolen Titan by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the Titan in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 3700 block of Central Avenue. The Titan was recovered with no theft damage, released to the owner, who responded to the scene, and removed from federal and state crime computer systems. It was at this time that it was learned that the owner had left a spare key in the Titan.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Nissan Titan in August 2006 at AutoNation Nissan in Brandon, Florida.
