The owner of a 2005 Scion Xb sport utility vehicle discovered their vehicle missing from their home. The owner contacted the Broward County Sheriff’s Office to report their Scion stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers.

A short while later a Florida Highway Patrol trooper picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The trooper began tracking the stolen Scion by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The trooper, along with their backup, located the Scion in parking lot of an apartment complex in the 200 block of N.W. 38th Street in Oakland Park. The Scion was recovered, released to the owner, who responded to the scene, and removed from federal and state crime computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Scion Xb in November 2004 at Maroone Toyota in Davie, Florida.
