The equipment rental manager of a business contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their 2014 Ford F250 truck was stolen, after it had not been returned as required.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Thirty minutes later, officers from the Peoria Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the area of 107th Avenue and Deer Valley Road.

The Ford truck was found in the possession of a subject who was not listed on the rental contract.  The subject advised that the person who rented the Ford let them use it and did not advise that it was due back.  The Ford truck was recovered and returned to the rental company in good condition.  Follow up investigation is being conducted by the police.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 truck in April 2014 via Commercial Sales.
