The owners of a Dodge Ram 1500 contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen during the night from their New Orleans East apartment complex parking area. They had parked and secured the Dodge about 6:30 pm the previous night and found it missing in the morning.

The New Orleans PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

17 minutes later, officers from the New Orleans PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers PTC’s that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to the Kenilworth neighborhood of Eastern New Orleans.

The Dodge truck was found parked on the street in good condition.  The officers notified the owner and a short while later the happy owner arrived and was reunited with their Dodge.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Ram 1500 in August of 2003 at Ray Brandt Dodge in Harvey, Louisiana.
