The owners of a 2005 Ford Focus contacted the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a residence in Garfield County during the night.

The investigating police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later several officers from the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Hefner Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the 4200 block of S.W. 32nd in Oklahoma City.

Upon arriving at the recovery location officers made contact with the subject who was identified as being the person who had driven the Ford to the location. This subject was subsequently taken into custody for the theft of the Ford.  The Ford was in good condition when recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Focus March 2006 at Westway Ford in Irving, Texas.
