The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their apartment complex parking lot.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Tahoe.

A short while later, officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Tahoe with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the 500 block of Doe St. where the Chevrolet was found parked and abandoned. The Chevrolet sustained door and ignition damage. The Chevrolet was released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe in January 2007 at Davis Chevrolet Geo in Houston, Texas.
