The owners of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their apartment complex parking lot.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet pickup.

A short while later, officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to 2300 South Wayside at a supercenter parking lot where the Chevrolet was parked and abandoned. The Chevrolet had driver door damage and ignition damage. The owner was summoned to the location and the Chevrolet pickup was released into their custody.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in March 2013 at Lone Star Ford in Houston, Texas.
