The owners of a 2014 Toyota Corolla contacted the Newark Police Department to report that their vehicle was taken from in front of their house in the City of Newark. The Toyota was running with the keys in the ignition when it was taken.

The Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2014 Toyota Corolla.

A short while later officers from the Linden Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC’s) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to a shopping center parking lot on Route 1 & 9, where the vehicle was recovered parked and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Toyota Corolla in April 2014 at Toyota Universe in Little Falls, New Jersey.
