The owners of two Melroe skid-steer front loaders contacted the Houston Police Department to report that they were stolen from their construction site at a warehouse in the I-10 & I-610 Loop area.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the loaders.

A short while later, officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen loaders with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the skid-steers to a residential area where both loaders were located behind the detached garage of a residence on Enterprise Street in the Acers Homes area. Officers obtained consent to search and identified both stolen loaders. A suspect has been identified and charges are being processed.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Skid-steer Loaders in November 2012 & November 2013 via Commercial Sales.
