The owners of a 2006 Nissan Titan contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from a gas station near 35th Avenue and Cactus Road in Phoenix.  The owner went inside the building to pay for the gas, when an unknown female jumped into the driver’s seat and demanded the passenger to exit the Nissan.  The passenger thought the female suspect may have been armed with a weapon, so immediately complied.  The female suspect fled the area in the stolen Nissan Titan.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Thirty minutes later the helicopter crew and patrol officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to a neighborhood in northeast Phoenix.

The Nissan was found abandoned on a side street in the neighborhood.  The police recovered the Nissan and processed it for evidence.  A possible suspect has been identified and police continue to investigate this case.  The Nissan was returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Titan in September 2006 at ABC Nissan in Phoenix, Arizona.
