The owners of a 2006 GMC Yukon contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway of their residence sometime over night.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC.

A short while later officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen GMC Yukon with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the GMC to an apartment complex in the 4600 block of west McDowell Road in Phoenix.

The GMC Yukon was found unoccupied in the parking lot of the apartment complex.  The GMC was recovered and processed for evidence.  The GMC Yukon was later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Yukon in October 2005 at Coulter Motors in Tempe, Arizona.
