The owner of a 2005 Nissan X-TRA sport utility vehicle parked their truck in the parking lot of their apartment complex. When they attempted to use it later in the day, they discovered it missing. The owner contacted the West Palm Beach Police Department to report their Nissan stolen. The West Palm Beach PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Later that afternoon, a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The deputy began tracking the stolen Nissan by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The deputy, along with their backup, located the Nissan abandoned in the 4600 block of Boatman Street in Lake Worth. There was no apparent damage to the Nissan. The Nissan was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from federal and state crime computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Nissan X-TRA in January 2006 at West Palm Beach Nissan in Florida.
